Great read and a ...Jeff and Brian thanks for that! Great read and a hardy well done to Brian. I saw that coming. The reasons the kiwis do well in the TD is likely for two reasons - generally kiwis are hard and if you are willing to go do the TD from NZ you are likely a more "experienced" or committed bike pack racer….and of course the KB, GSB and now the TA are reasonably local…..not to mention the weather that many kiwis become exposed to and or used to. We can get soft over here.

I think we need to find a Cape 2 Cape route on the north island…I'm brining my BP gear [along with a sleeping pad] this Sept….I would not mind doing a Old Ghost Road out-n-back [one day out- return the next]….crazy?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00226533998682894319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15091028.post-49641681382451287022016-07-06T02:22:43.875+12:002016-07-06T02:22:43.875+12:00Thanks for the debriefing both the interviewer and...Thanks for the debriefing both the interviewer and interviewee. It's great to see that with age our legs just get stronger. I started getting into bikepacking switching over from road to ruin just a couple years before I started having children. Now there's no time to get out for more than a 24 hour ride and even that's hard. Thanks for the inspiration and I know one day there will be multi week-long rides for me.
